A thoughtful gift
First off, I’d like to thank the people who greeted me on my birthday.
My birthday ended with a genuine smile. Having to spend my day with very good friends is priceless. Though, I never usually celebrate my birthday and this time I did. Just the thought of turning 29 on November 29 is something I can’t really ignore. Surprisingly, I don’t feel old at all and that I am really happy that my good friends are there to celebrate it with me.
I decided to celebrate my birthday at Tong Yang, an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu restaurant. So, I invited Chris (my boyfriend), Jay (Chris’ bestfriend), Ian (my bestfriend), Sam (Ian’s partner), and Gelo. I also invited my uncle and his son to have dinner with us.
In the morning of November 29, I woke my brother up so that he and I can fix the roof. We found leaks the day before because it was raining. After fixing the holes, I took a bath and went straight to Station 168. The internet cafe that I hangout in. Chris was already there waiting for me. We played WoW from 11:00am ’till 6:00pm.
Around 6pm, we walked towards the restaurant to wait for the others. While waiting outside the restaurant with Chris, Gelo came first and I introduced him to Chris. My best friend Ian and his partner Sam arrived. I was really happy to see them and then Sam handed over a white envelope that looks like a greeting card. “Aw, it’s just a birthday card,” I thought to myself with a little disappointment. I tried so hard to tell myself that it’s the thought that counts. I smiled and said, “thank you.”
I opened the envelope right there and began to read the cover. I chuckled at first and when I opened it I felt so surprised and was really thrilled. It’s one of the most thoughtful gift I’ve got. But, of course, Chris gave me an early gift – the wrath of the Lich king expansion.
